Avocado and Banana Smoothie
This smoothie always reminds me of the warmer sunnier days in the Carolinas. The fabulous taste, wonderfully smooth texture, and the vibrant color always puts a smile on my face. No matter what the season, winter, spring, summer or fall, we can always find the warmth and sunshine in something, like a smoothie, to make it an awesome day.
I really mean that. Food plays such an important part in our lives, including how we feel, how we think, and how we interact with family, friends or collogues. If we put the right food into our bodies each and every day, we feel good, and we look good. We are all looking for happiness, and I truly believe it starts with the food we put in front of us. Food that tastes fantastic with the added bonus of great nutrition gives you energy, helps relieve aches and pains, and brings a little sunshine into our lives on a daily basis. This avocado and banana smoothie is a glass of healthy sunshine to start the day off right.
Avocados help reduce cholesterol, and they provide 39 percent of your daily requirements of fiber. Fiber helps with proper digestion. The folate in avocados supports the blood clotting in the body, and potassium is involved with controlling blood pressure, muscle contraction, nerve impulse, and kidney function. Avocados are packed with healthy fats that are involved in many metabolic processes and help lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, and diabetes.
