Pan-Roasted South Carolina Peaches with Vanilla, Local Honey, Passion Fruit & Greek Yogurt

real food, real flavor, real life.

Tender South Carolina peaches, pan-roasted until warm, juicy, and lightly caramelized, then finished with vanilla, local honey, passion fruit, and creamy Greek yogurt. Sweet, sharp, fresh, and simple.

Serves

4

Ingredients

8 ingredients

  • 4 ripe South Carolina peaches, halved and stones removed
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons local honey
  • 2 passion fruits, pulp scooped out
  • 1 vanilla pod, split and seeds scraped
  • 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil or butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves
  • Pinch of sea salt

Method

  1. Prepare the peaches.
Cut the peaches in half and remove the stones.
  2. Warm the pan.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil or butter.
  3. Pan-roast the peaches.
Place the peaches cut-side down in the pan. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until golden and lightly caramelized.
  4. Add vanilla and honey.
Turn the peaches over. Add the vanilla seeds and 1 tablespoon of the honey to the pan. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, spooning the juices over the peaches until they are tender and glossy.
  5. Prepare the yogurt.
Spoon the Greek yogurt onto a serving plate or into bowls. Add a tiny pinch of sea salt to balance the sweetness.
  6. Plate.
Place the warm peaches over the yogurt.
  7. Finish.
Spoon over the passion fruit pulp, drizzle with the remaining honey, and scatter with fresh mint.

Optional Additions

  • Chopped pistachios

  • Crushed walnuts

Why this fits the MW&B recipe criteria

This recipe fits MW&B because it is built from whole foods, uses a short ingredient list, and gives you natural sweetness, protein, fiber, healthy fats, and big flavor without turning dessert into a sugar bomb dressed up as “balance.” We’ve all seen that nonsense.

Make It More Filling

For a stronger breakfast or post-workout option, add:

  • 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios
  • 2 tablespoons walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • Extra Greek yogurt

That will increase protein, healthy fats, and satiety without turning the dish into a kitchen science experiment.

Chef Mark Note

This is a beautiful MW&B recipe because it feels indulgent while still being grounded in real food. The peaches become soft, warm, and caramelized. The vanilla and honey bring sweetness. The passion fruit adds sharpness. The Greek yogurt keeps it creamy, fresh, and balanced.

It is simple, seasonal, and satisfying. No refined dessert base, no heavy pastry, no ultra-processed topping. Just ripe fruit, good yogurt, a little honey, and smart flavor.
