with Almond-Oat Crust and Citrus Vanilla Filling
This cheesecake keeps the creamy comfort of a classic dessert but gives it a more Midlife Wellness & Beyond approach: Greek yogurt for extra protein and tang, less added sugar than a traditional cheesecake, an almond-oat crust for better texture and fiber, and real citrus and vanilla for flavor. It is still dessert, but it is made with better ingredients and a little more purpose.
This fits the MW&B recipe framework because it uses real ingredients, includes protein where possible, limits added sugar, avoids ultra-processed shortcuts, and keeps flavor front and center.

Optional topping

- Spoonful of Greek yogurt
- Light drizzle of honey
- Toasted almonds or walnuts
Method
- Preheat the oven.
Preheat oven to 325°F. Line the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper and lightly grease the sides. - Make the crust.
Add almond flour, oats, walnuts, flaxseed if using, cinnamon, and salt to a food processor. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. - Bind the crust.
Add maple syrup and melted butter or coconut oil. Pulse until the mixture holds together when pressed. - Bake the crust.
Press the crust firmly into the bottom of the springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and cool slightly. - Make the filling.
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add Greek yogurt, maple syrup or honey, coconut sugar, citrus juice, zest, vanilla, arrowroot or cornstarch, and salt. Mix until smooth. - Add the eggs.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing gently after each addition. Do not overmix. - Bake.
Pour the filling over the crust. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center still has a slight wobble. - Cool slowly.
Turn off the oven, crack the door open, and let the cheesecake sit inside for 30 minutes. This helps prevent cracking. - Chill.
Transfer to the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. - Serve.
Slice and serve with fresh berries, citrus zest, toasted nuts, or a small spoonful of Greek yogurt.
MW&B Why This Fits
Real Food First:
This cheesecake uses Greek yogurt, eggs, almond flour, oats, nuts, citrus, vanilla, and natural sweeteners instead of relying on boxed mixes or artificial flavoring.
Protein Support:
Greek yogurt, eggs, cream cheese, almond flour, and nuts add more protein than a standard dessert.
Better Sweetness:
The recipe uses a smaller amount of maple syrup or honey and coconut sugar rather than a heavy sugar load.
Healthy Fats:
Almond flour, walnuts or pecans, and optional flaxseed add satisfying fats and texture.
Fiber and Texture:
The almond-oat crust adds more fiber than a traditional graham cracker crust.
Flavor Is Compliance:
Citrus zest, vanilla, Greek yogurt tang, and a nutty crust make this taste like a real dessert, not a wellness pretender.

Chef Mark’s Tip
For the smoothest cheesecake, make sure the cream cheese, yogurt, and eggs are at room temperature before mixing. Cold ingredients can create lumps, and lumps in cheesecake are a No No!!!!
MW&B Serving Suggestion
Serve a small slice with fresh berries and a spoonful of plain Greek yogurt. The berries add color, fiber, and freshness, while the yogurt adds protein and balances the richness of the cheesecake. This keeps dessert satisfying without turning it into a sugar landslide.
